National Nutrition Week 10th - 17th October 2021

National Nutrition Week is Nutrition Australia's annual healthy eating awareness campaign. National Nutrition Week always coincides with the United Nations' World Food Day, which takes place on 16 October.

Have you heard about Tryfor5?

Tryfor5 is an annual campaign powered by Nutrition Australia encouraging Australians to increase their vegetable consumption to the recommended five serves per day, launching each October during National Nutrition Week. The purpose of this campaign is to increase the awareness of the roles of food on our health.

In the latest studies and recurring healthy eating messages only 4% of Australians are eating enough vegetables each day. The average person eats only half as much as they should. Because of the low intake of vegetables in the Australian population, the campaign was inspired and developed. Try for 5 inspires and encourages all Australians to eat more vegetables. This campaign provides delicious and healthy recipes which can inspire you to add vegetables in your meals. The campaign also runs live cooking events and virtual farm tours. You can find a lot of resources and veg tips and hacks on the Tryfor5 website.

We understand that it isn’t always easy to eat more vegetables. It's not always possible, and sometimes it just doesn’t taste good. But it is worth a go and here are something to try.

Try for 5 2021 will kick off 10th October – 16th October.
