Pilot Officer George Charles Henry Jackson, who was KIA on December 13, 1941 at age 22, is memorialized at Runnymede Memorial at Surrey, England.

While preparing his display for our November 11th Remembrance Day page, I found that the photo shown to the left was posted at his memorial page.

After ' photoshopping ' this, we now have a photo of PO Jackson.

Announcing A New Home for the History Hangar

Sunday, October 1, 2017

Well friends, it has been a very hectic eleven months {from November 2016 to October 2017} for your overworked volunteers in the History Hangar. Much midnight oil has been burned.

After many lengthy, and yes, sometimes heated discussions, our Members and Guests are about to reap the rewards.

As you have already noticed, the History Hangar has a completely new and hopefully more pleasing look.

We mentioned in a previous issue of our "On Watch" newsletter that Google was about to release its new website builder ... that happened in November 2016, and you're seeing the results.

It initially had some severe limitations that we found somewhat limiting (primarily from a technical point of view), but these are being rectified and we expect them to all be resolved by early 2018.

We will be gradually switching over BAYS from our existing site to our new home.

One day when you click on a BAY on our current site, you will end up on our new site. We'll try and make it as seamless as possible for you.

There will be more information provided in a later newsletter but basically we expect to 'shut down' our current site by late 2018 and be comfortably settled in our new home.

Let us know what you think of the changes once you've had a chance to experience the New History Hangar by completing "My 2 Cents Worth" below.

400 Squadron's 85th Anniversary is Thursday, October 5, 2017

Sunday, October 1, 2017

400 Squadron was the first RCAF Squadron formed and is the oldest continually serving Squadron in the Royal Canadian Air Force.

For those of us who served with the Mighty Four Oh Oh, we are justifiably proud of our Squadron and its many accomplishments. (your webmaster served from Feb, 1958 through Aug, 1963).

We celebrated our anniversary on Saturday, August 12, 2017 with a "Gathering" in the 400 Squadron Hangar at Canadian Forces Base Borden. Click on our 85th Anniversary Logo to view videos and photos.
