About the Authors

Aaron is a Korean author. He is 13 years old and currently goes to The Harbour School. This is his fourth time writing a short story. He likes playing soccer and reading. His favourite books belong in the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan.

Akshay was born in New York, then moved to Los Angeles when he was 5, moved to Dallas at age 8, and to Hong Kong at age 9, where he lives with his dog, Rani, his mom, dad, and sister, Nandhika. He is the author of the Fall of An Empire series.

Autumn is an 8th grade student at The Harbour School. She likes to spend her days drawing, listening to music, fencing, playing games, and sometimes hanging out with friends. This is her third time publishing a short story.

Chiara is in fifth grade at The Harbour School. She enjoys writing, screaming, swimming, and eating. She likes reading. A lot. Her favourite genre is fantasy-dystopian, but she also likes other kinds of fiction. She is an aspiring marine biologist. She is currently in the school production, and if she could choose her daemon and animagus form, it would be a peregrine falcon (also her favourite animal).

Crystal is not your typical 8-year-old. She enjoys swimming, and reading a lot. Her favourite genre is Fantasy. Her favourite books belong to the series Warriors Cats by Erin Hunter. She hopes to publish a book just as good one day.

Debbie is 8 years old. She is currently in third grade and she loves to eat and watch shows on Netflix. Her favorite school subject is art! She likes comics and novels. The books she reads most are her favourite comics, Garfield and her favorite book seires, The Thea Sisters.

Ella is 11 years old and is in fifth grade at The Harbour School. She lives in Hong Kong with her parents, two brothers, and two dogs, named Lollipop and Rocky. She likes drawing and writing. In particular, she likes to write fictional and fantasy stories. Her other interests include gymnastics, spending time with her friends, and traveling with her family.

Eva is an 11-year-old writer in 5th grade. She was born in South Africa and is currently living in Hong Kong, though she is moving to Singapore soon. In her free time Eva enjoys dancing, acting, making art, and of course, writing! Eva is going to The Harbour School but due to her move she will be going elsewhere. Eva has two sisters who go by the names of Maya and Cailen. Maya is 12 years old turning 13, and Cailen just turned 20 years old. Eva also has a mom named Kerry and a dad named Coenraad. This is the first short story Eva has written but there are many more to come so stay tuned!

Francis is 10 years old. He lives in Kowloon Tong, in HK. He is in fifth grade, and his current interests are drawing and making digital 3D models, though he writes occasionally. His favourite book series is Wings of Fire by Tui T. Sutherland, but he also likes to read non-fiction books about animals. His favourite animal is the Asian Arowana fish. He lives with his mom, his dad, and his helper, but even though he has no siblings, he has a dog and a turtle to keep him company as well. He studies at The Harbour School, and is participating in the LEAP program.

Jack lives in Hong Kong. He is 9 years old and studies at The Harbour School. He isi part of the Learning Extension program. In his free time, Jack likes to play with LEGOs and watch Youtube. He has a great interest in math, and likes to learn more of it whenever and wherever. He loves sharing his likes and dislikes, and is happy to tell people about his adventures.

Jeremy is a sixth grade student at The Harbour School and he lives in Hong Kong. Jeremy is a keen writer and has previously published stories in both books and newspapers. Jeremy has thoroughly enjoyed writing this short story and can't wait to get started on the next one to add to his growing collection.

John is a student at The Harbour School. He is in eighth grade and is 14 years old. He likes science. He doesn’t like to eat fish, but he loves carbonara. He likes reading books like Harry Potter and Game of Thrones and he makes an effort to be nice to everyone.

Julie's family is originally from Japan. She is currently in fifth grade at The Harbour School. She likes dogs, sushi, and her family and friends. She dislikes arguments. In her free time, she reads books, draws, and watches TV. She enjoys drawing and reading the most. She loves all her subjects in school.

Lea is 10 years old and in fourth grade. She lives in the New Territories, Clearwater Bay, with her mom, dad, brother, Oliver, and sister, Mia. She likes puppies, drawing, reading books, and watching shows on Netflix.

Kerena is in seventh grade and likes to read, play video games and sleep. Her favorite books include Hex Hall, The Hunger Games, and Harry Potter. She is described as ‘sassy’ and ‘annoying’ by her classmates, and prefers to stay indoors... because who wants to get a tan?

Kiran is 11 years old and in Grade 5. He has published five projects for LEAP, and is currently working on a non-LEAP illustrated novel about a land full of feathered, elegant dino-like creatures and many other self-created species all in danger due to a certain evil force. He likes playing tag and imagination games outside with his friends, running around, writing stories, creating characters, hiking, snorkelling, biking, reading, drawing and gaming. His favorite animals are monitor lizards, small feathered dinosaurs such as Troodon and Velociraptor, and geckos. His favorite books are the Wings Of Fire series and his favorite dragon species in those books are the LeafWings and SilkWings. He prefers books with non-human characters, especially reptilian ones.

Melody is a humorous little rascal. She is eight years old and has written poems and short stories, and is currently working on a fantasy novel. She lives in Hong Kong with her mom, dad, grandma, and grandpa; her dog Cookie; two bunnies, Tracy and Bun Bun; two turtles Bitey and Chewy; and 13 fish named Henry, Hunter, Hayden, Hector, Hugo, Harry, Hannah, Hazel, Hailey, Harmony, Hope, Holly, and Helena.

Nathalie is a girl in fifth grade. She enjoys reading and creative writing. She has a little sister who is in first grade at Victoria Shanghai Academy. Nathalie plays tennis and loves swimming, and has an unstoppable appetite for candy and chips.

Newton is in sixth grade. He has one brother called Oden and a dog called Delta. He enjoys reading, writing and engineering and has finished few personal writing projects. He also enjoys playing with adventure video games and toys such as Lego and K-Nex. He also enjoys playing with his friends and likes to thinks about paradoxes.

Nikita is a sixth grader at The Harbour School. He learned to read at a young age because of online reading games. He loves fish and chips.

Yusang is a boy who likes to play soccer like the boy in his story, The Magic Pyramid. He is in Grade 4 at The Harbour School and lives in Hong Kong with his mom, dad and older brother, Aaron. Yusang has written two stories for The LEAP Blog.

Zahaan is a nine year old boy who lives in Hong Kong. He was born in India. He lives with his mum and dad. He likes to read and play with Legos. He is in Grade 3. He goes to The Harbour School.
