Glory farm p.t.a.
Our PTA is a great forum for bringing together parents and teachers, offering support to the school. It provides an opportunity for everyone to work together to a common goal. Any parents and teachers can get involved – even if they only have a small amount of time available! Committee meetings take place for an hour, approximately once or twice a term.
Our PTA activities are diverse and the range is dependent on the bright ideas thought up by the committee – or the suggestions and comments from parents. Events include a summer fete, race nights, fashion show, art exhibition and pupil discos throughout the year.
We are very lucky with the amount of money we raise at each event. In 2009, we contributed over £4,000 to the play area in the infant playground alongside many other school request including: the purchase of rainsuits for the reception children to play in wet weather, books for all pupils at Christmas, Year 6 class photographs for all leavers, providing funding for an artist-in-residence and a contribution towards the cost of coaches for school trips.
New suggestions and ideas are always welcome, either for fundraising events or initiatives, or how to spend the money raised!
Involvement in the PTA is an opportunity to get to know other parents across the school years, and to play an important part in the school community. Please feel free to pop along to our next meeting (details in the latest meeting minutes below and on the noticeboard in School reception).
