When is Camp?
The 2022 GMBA Campout will be Friday, July 1 - Wednesday, July 6 for ages 13-34!
Important: Youth ages 23-34 will arrive on July 1 as a part of a leadership experience. Youth ages 13-22 will arrive on July 2.
Where is Camp?
Camp will be held at California University of Pennsylvania: 250 University Ave, California, PA 15419
When will registration open and close?
Registration will open April 5 and close June 1.
What is the format of the week?
The format will be similar to the format of past GMBA Campouts, but with fun new additions!
On July 1st, youth ages 23-34 can arrive at Camp and take part in a unique leadership experience. That day will focus on mentorship and how the “older” youth can be good leaders/mentors to the “younger” group.
July 2nd, the rest of our group, ages 13-22 will arrive. The days will be full of small group activities, seminars, night meetings, singing, rec, and so much more!
Why is the Camp youth only?
Unfortunately, due to renovations going on at CalU, there is only a specific amount of people allowed on campus. Because of this (and COVID protocols), we had to make the difficult decision to make 2022 GMBA Campout youth only. We look forward to being back together with everyone in 2023!
Are the age ranges strictly enforced?
Yes. The activities that are planned are for the ages 13-34. We will be strictly enforcing this and unfortunately, anyone under 13 or over 34 will not be able to come this year.
Who are the chaperones?
There will be selected brothers and sisters over 34 acting as chaperones throughout the week who will take part in various activities and have various roles.
Who are the mentors?
The mentors will be youth ages 23-34 who register and want to be a part of mentoring the attendees aged 13-22.
How much does camp cost?
For ages 13-22 the cost for camp will be $295. For ages 23-34, it will cost $325. These prices include a T-Shirt, linens, and all meals!
Is the Youth Missionary Fund (YMF) still available?
Yes! For this year only, the YMF will be available for all ages (13-34).
Will there be support for attendees traveling by plane?
Yes! This year we have put together a Travel Committee that will be in charge of shuttling attendees to and from the Pittsburgh International Airport.
I am a parent and weary to have my child be in Pennsylvania without me being there. What should I do?
We completely understand your concern and truly wish that we could all be at Camp together. Because this is not possible and parents cannot be on campus, we are working on getting a hotel block at a hotel near CalU. Check out our Parents Guide for more information.
How do I make sure I room with or am near friends?
While registering, make sure you include who you want to room with and be near! Include a few names so our accommodations team has options, and we will work hard to put you with people you wrote down!
Will meetings be Zoomed or Live Streamed?
Yes! Be on the lookout for links once we get closer to camp!
What is the theme?
Stay tuned in the upcoming weeks for a GMBA Campout 2022 Theme Announcement!
I am within the age range but I have kids who are not. Can I bring my child with me?
Unfortunately, due to the structure and set up for camp, we are forced to strictly follow the ages; no children or infants under the age of 13 will be allowed. We look forward to having whole families attend together in 2023!
