About Us
Dr. Angie Madden founded The Bright Spot in May of 2021, inspired by her passion to engage children in the pursuit of learning purely for enjoyment. The name comes from the desire to be a bright spot in each child’s day as they explore their own interests and creativity in a fun learning environment.
The Bright Spot philosophy is that children develop a desire to learn and learn best through engaging, motivating experiences that relate to their own passions and interests, or that spark new ones.
All experiences at The Bright Spot weave in elements of literacy (reading, writing, speaking, and listening), collaboration, and creativity to foster the development of a community of lifelong learners.
Dr. Madden has over 20 years of experience as an educator working with children, teens, and adults. She has her doctorate in literacy education and certifications in elementary education, reading and writing, and gifted and talented. She has worked at universities, public schools, and tutoring centers and is now pouring her heart into the Bright Spot to share her unique teaching style with the Lexington community.
