Host a Drive for the Brave House

Thank you for your interest in hosting a Food or Baby Goods Drive for the Brave House. Below are the resources you will need to get involved. We appreciate you!

You can also donate to support our programming here and purchase goods from our Amazon Wish List to be mailed to our office.

Workflow

Decide the group that will be hosting the drive. Does your workplace, religious institution, community center, school, gym, or another group have an interest in participating in a drive?
Reach out to our team (mabel@thebravehouse.org) to set up a 20-minute introductory call so we can get to know you and confirm that we have the capacity to receive items. See below for accepted items.
Determine your timeline: what time window will you receive donations? Typically a group will collect items for up to one month. Communicate this to our team.
Host the drive: put out a collection container in the common area of your space for donations to collect *new and like-new items*. We recommend a poster that details accepted items and timeline.
Make a transportation plan: how will the items get to the Brave House office? (155 Water St., 3rd Floor, Brooklyn, NY 11201) Communicate this to our team.
Come on by: drop off the items and say hi to the team!

Mercadito Gratuito

Donations are housed in the Brave House's Mercadito Gratuito ("little free market"), a donation space where members can “shop” for free essential goods like food, baby clothes, and diapers.
