Policies & Legal Stuff

At the start of each Academic Year all young people engaged in Dungannon Youth For Christ co-ordinated activities, whether Centre based or otherwise, will be required to return a completed Parental/Guardian Consent Form. Failure to do so may result in the young person concerned being excluded from all DYFC activities until such times as the completed form has been returned. Young people joining regular programmes and activities during the year will be required to return completed forms as a priority.

Photographs and Video may be taken of your child during Dungannon Youth For Christ activities. These will be used for internal and external promotional purposes including being shared on the Dungannon Youth For Christ wesite, and Dungannon Youth For Christ social media platforms, as well as the Youth For Christ (NI) website, and Youth For Christ publications.

If you do not give consent for photographs and video to be taken of your child, we will work to ensure your child does not appear in any group photos or videos. This should be communicated to us via the annual membership consent forms or via email - Photographs and videos of your child are used in line with our child protection policy.

Social Media and Contacting your child - Dungannon Youth For Christ has an official Facebook page. Designated representatives of Dungannon Youth For Christ may accept friend requests and contact your child on social media platforms as well as texting your child for the specific purposes of informing them of programme information and activities with Dungannon Youth for Christ. This is an effective way of keeping young people updated on what is happening at Dungannon Youth For Christ. There should be no other digital or electronic communication between young people and persons associated with Dungannon Youth For Christ other than the Designated persons acting in an official capacity.

If you do not give consent for Designated Dungannon Youth For Christ personnel to be friends with and/or contact your child via social media platforms or text platforms your child this should be communicated to us via the annual membership & consent forms or via email Use of social media with your child is used in line with Youth For Christ (NI)'s child protection policy.

Travel - For off-site activities staff and volunteers will always endeavour to ensure two leaders are in the vehicle with young people, however this is not always possible. If you do not give consent for your child to travel in leader's cars for Dungannon Youth For Christ activities we will ensure this does not happen. This should be communicated to us via the annual membership & consent forms or via email Arranging transport for your child is used in line with Youth For Christ (NI)'s child protection policy.

First Aid and Medical Consent - First aid will be administered on your child where necessary and emergency hospital treatment will be administered for your child in the case where the legal parent/guardian and the second contact cannot be contacted and where this is advised by a medical professional.

If you you do not give consent for first aid to be administered / emergency medical consent to be made on your behalf for your child if you cannot be contacted please make this known via the annual membership & consent forms or via email
