Julie of the Wolves and Touching Spirit Bear
This trimester, Middle School students read and analyzed the books, Julie of the Wolves and Touching Spirit Bear. Each book is set in the Arctic tundra. To help understand that terrain and ecosystem, the students participated in a National Geographic Explorer Classroom webinar about the Alaskan Tundra with students from around the world. Two Birch middle school students were selected to be some of the “on air” students for this presentation, and were able to ask questions during the session. You can see Spencer ask his question at 27:33 and Oliver asks his question at 35:30. Before the webinar the class discussed what question to ask and chose these questions for our class representatives to pose live.
