Absence Policy for College Visits:
SENIORS are allowed to be excused for ONE college visit. Any additional college visits would require the EHO form to be filled out at least 5 days prior to the visit or a parent note to be used. The EHO forms can be found in the front office.
Student Driver Safety:
Students driving to school must park in the student lot and have a parking permit in their vehicle. We have students parking across the street at businesses. As you know, there is a lot of traffic in the morning and the afternoon. It is unsafe for students to be crossing Doctor's Drive. Additionally, business have every right to tow vehicles that are not supposed to be parked there. If your student cannot afford a parking permit, please contact the school.
Senior Cap and Gowns:
Senior graduation cap and gowns are now available to purchase. If you need assistance with purchasing one, please contact Mollie Hinds-Wade at mollie.hindswade@franklin.kyschools.us. Here is the link for the basic package. WH Cap and Gown

Family and Community Engagement (FACE) Team:
We are putting together a Family & Community Engagement (FACE) Team and are in need of people to join in!
This group will examine how we communicate to our families, determine its effectiveness, and make suggestions for how we can improve in our areas of need. This will consist of 4-5 meetings throughout the course of the year. If you are interested in participating or perhaps would like more information, please contact Rey Gonzalez at rey.gonzalez@franklin.kyschools.us
Blankets at School:
Now that it is colder, I wanted to remind families that we do not allow students to have blankets out at school or on the buses. This is a safety hazard as it can cause people to trip and fall. Also, we do not know what students might have under them and there is really no place in the educational setting for these. If students need assistance with cold-weather clothing, they can visit our Youth Service Center in the front office, and Tonya Bass will help.
Driver License Requirement:
Students needing to fulfill their Graduated Driver Licensing requirement can register for a free class by going to www.kentuckysafedriver.com and clicking on the Alive at 25 links located under Courses or by calling 502/699-2295. The next course is offered on Thursday, October 25th at The Frankfort Christian Academy from 4:00-8:00 and Monday, November 18th at Western Hills from 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm.
