Tackle Hunger Food Drive:
The West vs. the East in a food drive! Hills will be collecting food items during the month of October. Help us win the most food collected and bragging rights for a year! Tackle Hunger Food Drive If you bring 2-3 cans of food to the following WH games, you will get in FREE!: October 11th (tonight) - Football Game and October 15th - Volleyball Game.
Flu Shots:
The Health Department will be at Western Hills on October 21st to give flu shots to those students who want it. If you want your student to have a flu shot, please fill out the form and send it to the front office.

Driver License Requirement:
Students needing to fulfill their Graduated Driver Licensing requirement can register for a free class by going to www.kentuckysafedriver.com and clicking on the Alive at 25 links located under Courses or by calling 502/699-2295. The next course is offered on Thursday, October 25th at The Frankfort Christian Academy from 4:00-8:00 and Monday, November 18th at Western Hills from 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm.
PSAT:
The PSAT will be offered at Western Hills on October 23rd during the school day. Any student in grades 9-11 can sign up to take the exam. The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) is a standardized test designed to help students prepare for the SAT or ACT and to qualify for National Merit Scholarship programs (qualifying for the scholarship is only available for competing Juniors). Girls Basketball Tryouts:
Western Hills girls basketball tryouts are Thursday, October 17th from 3:45-5:30 in the gym. Students must have a physical on file to attend.
French Students:
Western Hills French students are headed to France in June 2025! This trip is open to all Western Hills students who have taken or are currently taking French, as well as their parents or guardians. Contact Ms. Board (caroline.board@franklin.kyschools.us) for more information.
Track and Field:
Track and Field conditioning starts Monday, October 14th. It will be Monday - Friday from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Track.
ACT Testing:
All students will be testing on Thursday, October 17th. 9th, 10th, and 11th graders will be taking a Practice ACT Test. The Seniors will be taking the ACT test. If a student is tardy they will be placed into a waiting area until testing is over. Please make sure to get your student to school on time that day.
Students will not have access to their cell phones during test time. If there is an emergency and you need to speak to your student during the test, please call the front office. A counselor will remove the student from the testing room to speak to you. We ask that you please not text or call during the testing time. We will ask all students to turn their phone off, but if they do not and their phone disrupts the room, we will need to confiscate the phone until testing is complete.
Christmas Student Sponsoring:
Believe it or not, Christmas is just around the corner. There are families that are need of help during this time. If you would like to sponsor a Western Hills student for Christmas or if your student needs sponsoring, please reach out to Tonya Bass, FRYSC, at tonya.bass@franklin.kyschools.us.
