Kentucky Summative Assessment and Accountability Scores
Western Hills is proud to share that we improved in all academic areas on the Kentucky Summative Assessment (KSA), earning an overall green rating and achieving the highest blue rating for both postsecondary readiness and graduation rate. Our students and staff worked incredibly hard, and we are excited to celebrate their success. This is just a precaution and to get ahead before the winter weather begins! In the event that NTI is called, it is the student's responsibility to check Google Classroom for their assignments. Teachers have been asked to work with students with technology and internet issues at home on an individual basis. Please reach out to your student's teachers with any questions.
Holiday Lunch for WH Staff:
Wondering what to get the wonderful staff at Hills for Christmas? The parent sponsored staff lunch is Thursday, December 18th. This lunch is supported entirely by WHHS parents to show our appreciation for all they do. To donate, you can Venmo @Jennifer-McDonald-157 any amount you would like. Please put your child's name in the subject line. Or put your donation and your student's name in an envelope and get it to the front office. Any amount of money is welcome! If you contribute, your student's name will be on a card that will be on display in the Teacher's Lounge during lunch. All money is due by Thursday, December 11th. This is a great way to show appreciation for all of your student's teachers and the wonderful staff as well. If you have questions, please contact Jennifer at jenhillmcd@yahoo.com
Drivers' Compliance Form:
If your child will need a school verification form, please let us know in advance, as our staffing will be limited over Thanksgiving and winter break. This form cannot be emailed because it requires an embossed stamp, and we want to be sure you have everything you need before test day. If you need a form completed, please contact Haleigh Miller at haleigh.miller@franklin.kyschools.us or Kathy Roberts at kathy.roberts@franklin.kyschools.us Thank you for your help and planning ahead!
This form is required by the The No Pass/No Drive statute, KRS 159.051:
Any 15-17 year old student applying for the first time for a Learners Instruction Permit will be required to have a School Compliance Verification Form, issued and completed by the school. This form verifies that the student is compliant with the components of the statute. If the student is not compliant, the form should not be issued. The form requires the stamp from an embossed seal (with raised characters) to be accepted by local court clerks.
The "No Pass/No Drive" statute results in the denial of the school compliance verification form or the revocation of a student's driver's license for (1) academic deficiency (2) dropping out of school (3) missing 9 or more unexcused absences in one semester. Academic deficiency is defined as a student who does not have passing grades in at least four (4) courses, or the equivalent the preceding semester. A fifteen (15), sixteen (16) or seventeen (17) year old student is deemed to have dropped out of school when he/she has voluntarily withdrawn or has nine or more unexcused absences in the preceding semester. Any absences due to suspension shall be unexcused absences.
