Dear Wolverine Families,

Women’s History Month is celebrated in March. For 2026, the theme is “Leading the Change: Women Shaping a Sustainable Future,” spotlighting the contributions of women throughout history. This theme is meant to focus on women leading the change in sustainability; encompassing environmental, economic and social sectors. In the United States, Women's History Month traces its beginning back to the first International Women’s Day in 1911. As we celebrate Women’s History Month, help us encourage your students to show appreciation to all the important women in their lives.

Youth Service Center's Newsletter:

Car Rider Safety:

As another reminder, car riders should not be dropped off or picked up in the student or teacher parking lots. This creates an unsafe situation for the car riders as well as student and teacher drivers. We have increased the number of signs in these areas to make it more obvious that it is off limits for student pick up/drop off. We have had traffic accidents due to this area being too congested in the morning and the afternoons, with so many people pulling into or backing out of spaces. The car rider line only takes between 10 and 15 minutes to clear out from WHHS, starting at 3:30 pm. Our SRO will be outside periodically to enforce this policy. Please help us follow these expectations to get everyone where they need to be as quickly and safely as possible. Thank you for your cooperation!

Driver License Requirement:

Students needing to fulfill their Graduated Driver Licensing requirement can register for a free class by going to www.kentuckysafedriver.com and clicking on the Alive at 25 link located under Courses or by calling 502/699-2295. The next course is offered on Tuesday, March 24th at Western Hills from 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm. There are several spots left if you need to register your student.

SAT:

Kentucky switched from the ACT to the SAT test over the summer. Some students are feeling a bit anxious about the SAT, so we wanted to share an opportunity for them to take some practice tests. The Kentucky Virtual Library (KYVL) provides College Admissions Test Preparation. There are 8 SAT Practice Math tests and 8 SAT Practice Reading and Writing tests available.
