Dear Wolverine Families,

I hope this message finds you in good health and high spirits. This week has been filled with activities, and the upcoming week will be as exciting. The Big Smiles Mobile Dentist will be here on Monday, March 31 (see below for more details). On Friday, April 4, we will celebrate High Attendance Day with food trucks and games in the afternoon. We wanted to share this information early so you can encourage your students to be here on that day and bring some money to participate in the food trucks. It should be a great time to celebrate being a Wolverine.

I extend my wishes for a productive and successful week ahead. Let's continue to support one another in our efforts and work together to maintain our school community with a positive space for learning and growth.

Senior Parents/Guardians:

Cap and Gown orders will be delivered to the school on April 15th during lunch. Please make sure you have your order in ASAP; otherwise the student may not receive a gown in time. These are required to walk at Graduation. Here is the Herff Jones contact information to order:

Big Smiles Partnership:

We are excited to announce that we have partnered with Big Smiles and Bridgeport Elementary to offer students access to dental services through the Big Smiles Mobile Dentist. This is a great opportunity for students to receive professional dental care right at school! This event will take place on Monday, March 31, 2025. Spring Break Remediation:

Remediation over Spring Break will be offered Monday, April 7th through Wednesday, April 9th from 9am to noon. Contracts will be given to those students who qualify from their teachers. Be on the lookout for these forms, which will require your signature in order to participate. Project Graduation:

Join us for our next Project Graduation Meeting on March 30th in the Elkhorn Middle School Library at 2:30. Hope to see you there!

Band Annual Mattress Fundraiser:

Western Hills HS Band is hosting its 9th annual Mattress Fundraiser on Saturday, March 29th, from 10am - 4pm, at the High School. Even if you aren’t in the market to buy a mattress this year, you can help make a big difference for our Band! f you know someone looking for a great deal on their next mattress, tell them about our event. 10% of the population wants to replace their mattress.This is the time!

MATTRESS FACT: Did you know mattresses can double in weight over 10 years!? That’s because they absorb sweat and dead skin cells. Share this with someone and ask how their mattress is, it could be time to get a new one.

Hills Store Order Form:

Needing some Western Hills attire? We got you covered! Fill out the attached order form and return it to the front office. Checks need to be payable to Western Hills High School. Yearbook:

Please remember to buy your yearbooks! Yearbooks are available for purchase at www.yearbookordercenter.com using order number 10536 for $70 each. Unfortunately, if we do not have enough yearbooks purchased, we will not be able to produce a yearbook this year. For information regarding yearbooks, email Ms. Fraley at lorrie.fraley@franklin.kyschools.us.

Driver License Requirement:

Students needing to fulfill their Graduated Driver Licensing requirement can register for a free class by going to www.kentuckysafedriver.com and clicking on the Alive at 25 links located under Courses or by calling 502/699-2295. Here are the courses for April:

Saturday, April 12 at Frankfort – Kentucky Safe Driver from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm (this is our office located on 1007 Twilight Trail).
Thursday, April 17 at The Frankfort Christian Academy from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Tuesday, May 13 at Western Hills High School from 4:30-8:30

Practice ACT or AP Exams:

It is never too early to prepare for the ACT or AP exams. Would you like to practice online for FREE? Visit bit.ly/whhsactpractice where students can prepare for the ACT, SAT, PSAT, AP exams, and even learn to write College Admissions Essays. There are tutorials, practice tests, and test preparation eBooks. Students can sign in/register with their Franklin County Schools Google accounts.
