Grading Period:
Term 2 ended on January 7th. Grades will be complete and available to parents/guardians via Infinite Campus Parent Portal on Wednesday, January 15th. Please email Mrs. Mollie at mollie.hindswade@franklin.kyschools.us if you have any questions or need additional information on your parent portal.
January's SBDM Meeting:
Due to the adverse weather, the January SBDM meeting has been moved to Tuesday, January 14th at 4:30 in the Western Hills library. SBDM Agenda
Safety Reminder:
Car riders should not be picked up in the student or teacher parking lots. This creates an unsafe situation for the car riders and student and teacher drivers. We have increased the number of signs in these areas to make it more obvious that student pick-up/drop-off is off-limits. We have had traffic accidents due to this area being too congested. The car rider line only takes 10 - 15 minutes to clear out from WHHS, starting at 3:30 pm. Please help us follow these expectations to get everyone where they need to be as quickly and safely as possible. I appreciate your cooperation!
NTI Reminder:
In the event that a NTI day is called due to bad weather, students are responsible for checking their google classrooms for assignments.
Driver License Requirement:
Students needing to fulfill their Graduated Driver Licensing requirement can register for a free class by going to www.kentuckysafedriver.com and clicking on the Alive at 25 links located under Courses or by calling 502/699-2295. Due to the inclement weather, the course offered at Western Hills has been moved to Monday, January 27th from 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm. There is also a course offered on Thursday, February 20th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Frankfort Christian Academy.
ACT or AP Exams:

Practice ACT:
On January 22 the 10th and 11th graders will take the Mastery Prep practice ACT. We will be making this as similar as possible to the actual ACT testing environment. Students will not have access to their Cell Phones during the testing time.
Parent FAFSA Night:
Attendees will receive guidance from your Everybody Counts coach, ensuring you have the information and support needed to navigate the FAFSA process and access financial resources for higher education. For more information, contact Mr. Trae at darrell.faulkner@ky.gov. The session will be on January 22nd from 5:00-7:00 PM in the WH library. Parents will want to bring a device and the below items.
ACT Exam:
On March 11, the 11th-grade students will be taking the ACT exam. During this time, 11th graders will not have access to their phones. This year, the district will not offer the ACT to 10th Graders in March. If 10th graders are still interested in taking the ACT this school year, your student can speak to their counselor about registering for a National ACT Exam.
