In Level 1 Health students will participate in and develop in-depth insight to :
- The basic underlying concepts in Senior Health - Attitudes and Values, Hauora, Socio-Ecological Perspective and Health Promotion
- Interpersonal Skills and how these skills enhance relationships
- Changes to well-being and strategies to support these
- Taking action to enhance a personal aspect of well-being
- Strategies to promote positive sexuality
- Issues around making health-enhancing decisions in drug-related situations
Year 11 Health provides a solid foundation for level 2 & 3 Health and scholarship.

COURSE OUTLINE
The Year 11 Health course includes five achievement standards. Four of which are internally assessed and one externally assessed. These are:
Internal
- 1.1 Take action to enhance an aspect of personal well-being. 3 credits
- 1.3 Demonstrate understanding of ways in which well-being can change & strategies to support well-being. 4 credits
- 1.4 Demonstrate understanding of interpersonal skills used to enhance relationships. 5 credits
- 1.5 Demonstrate understanding of strategies for promoting positive sexuality. 4 credits
External
- 1.6 Demonstrate understanding of issues to make health-enhancing decisions in drug-related situations. 4 credits
