Paleolithic vs. Neolithic: The Ultimate Stone Age Showdown 🪨🥖
🏃♂️ Paleolithic:
“Catch food or starve!”
Homes = caves or whatever didn’t bite back.
Fire = big deal.
Tools = sharp rocks and good luck.
🧑🌾 Neolithic:
“Grow food and chill!”
Built houses and villages—hello, real estate!
Invented farming, pottery, and Pinterest-worthy baskets.
Tools = upgraded rocks (with attitude).
The Agricultural Revolution:
Once upon a time, humans were tired of chasing their dinner. So, they got smart and said, “Hey, what if we grow our food instead of running after it?” Boom—farming was born!
They planted stuff, built villages, and suddenly had way more time to invent things like pottery, wheelbarrows, and arguments over who owns what land.
Goodbye, wild hunting life. Hello, weeding forever. 🌾😅
Visit the 6 stations to learn more about the food supply, occupations, shelter, population/settlement, resources, and technology of the people from both the Paleolithic and Neolithic ages. While at each station, take bulleted notes on the comparison chart. 2-4 bullets per box.
Use what you have learned about the different ages to determine if a person lived in the Paleolithic or Neolithic age based on clues.
You will create a poster of the differences between the Paleolithic and Neolithic Ages. Use your fill in notes and graphic organizer to help you complete it.
Directions
Split the paper in ½ and label one side Paleolithic Age and the other side Neolithic Age. Have the following on each side.
Draw people doing what they would do in that age (no stick figures)
Draw appropriate animals doing what they would do
Draw their physical surroundings (caves, forests, farms, villages, etc.)
Draw correct tools being used
Add 5-7 labels explaining what you drew (in total between the 2 ages)
Little to no white space!
