Moana: Exploring Artifacts Activity (posted in Classroom)
An object made or used by people in the past. It helps us learn about how people lived long ago.

Watch the clip from Moana when Moana’s grandmother shows her the cave where her people’s long lost ships are stored. Through the magic of Disney, she studies these artifacts and is transported back in time and glimpses what it was like back when her people sailed the seas. After she learns this history she exclaims, “We were voyagers!” and her life changes forever. This scene is a powerful example of how studying artifacts, and learning about people’s history changes our whole outlook.
