Artifacts That Tell My Story Handout (given in class)
You are a historian, and your table just received a bag of artifacts donated to you by a local historical society. Without knowing any other information, it is your task to make reasonable inferences about the people to whom these items belong to. Record your findings on the Artifact Investigation handout.
Your table will have 8-12 minutes per bag before rotating to the next bag. After examining all of the bags, you will answer the following reflection questions:
Explain how artifacts help historians learn about the past.
What should historians be careful of when using artifacts to make inferences?Â
Which four artifacts would you choose to represent you?
Complete the Artifacts That Tell My Story handout. You do not need to bring in the artifacts.
