What's in the Trunk?: Mesopotamia Template (posted in Classroom)
Early on, priests held the most power, but as city-states expanded, Kings were at the top of the social pyramid. Priests became advisors that communicated with the gods. The upper class had government officials and scribes. The middle class had soldiers and workers like craftsmen, merchants, civil servants, and women who were educated or priestesses. The lower class had farmers, laborers and women who did housework or weaving. Enslaved people had no rights.
You and your group will present your trunk to the class. After your group presents their artifacts, the class will try to guess who owned the trunk (which social class they belonged to).
Overview
You and your group will be assigned a person from ancient Mesopotamia. Based on what you know about that person, and some research, you will curate a trunk with important artifacts that would have belonged to that person.
Requirements
Google Slides with at least 6 artifacts for your person (each person in your group is responsible for curating at least 1 artifact)
Slides must have the following:
Image of the artifact
Why would this artifact be important to your person? (2-4 sentence explanation)
