Hammurabi’s Code: Ancient Justice, Now with Extra Drama!
King Hammurabi looked around Babylon and said, “You people need rules... and a lot of them.” So he made 282 laws, carved in stone so nobody could say, “Wait, I didn’t know!”
The laws were very specific:
Steal something? Goodbye hand.
Break something? You better replace it.
Poke someone’s eye out? Get ready to say goodbye to yours. (**“Eye for an eye” wasn’t just a saying—it was a lifestyle.)
It was basically the world's first legal system... written like your mom laying down the rules with a sledgehammer.
In short: Hammurabi’s Code was the OG “no excuses” rulebook — fair-ish, firm, and definitely not gentle.
