Indian Subcontinent Map Analysis Handout (given in class)
The Indian subcontinent is basically a giant, spicy triangle of land hanging off Asia, surrounded by water on three sides and blocked off by the Himalayas like a giant “Do Not Enter” sign. Inside, you’ve got deserts that could roast you, jungles that could eat you, rivers that like to flood whenever they feel like it, and a monsoon season that’s basically nature’s dramatic mood swing. In short—mountains up top, beaches down below, chaos in the middle.
You will need to make observations using the physical and climate maps of the Indian Subcontinent below. Then determine how the geography and climate have impacted an area's population.
