The Nystrom Atlas of World History 3rd Edition
Hinduism is like the ultimate choose-your-own-adventure religion—it’s got millions of gods, epic myths, sacred rivers, yoga, and festivals where people throw colored powder or light up the night with fireworks. There’s karma (what goes around comes around), dharma (do your duty), and reincarnation (life’s biggest “try again” button). It’s been around for thousands of years and is still going strong—basically the ancient wisdom buffet of the Indian subcontinent.
Buddhism started when a prince named Siddhartha ditched his royal life to figure out why life can be such a bummer—and came back with the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path, basically a guide to inner peace without needing Wi-Fi. Instead of chasing riches, Buddhists chase enlightenment, often with lots of meditating, chanting, and being chill. It’s the ancient “don’t sweat the small stuff” philosophy… with really serene statues.
