Ancient Greece’s Geography: Mountains, Islands, and “Good Luck Visiting Grandma”
Ancient Greece was all mountains, rocky land, and scattered islands — like someone spilled a bunch of land into the sea and said, “That’ll do.”
Farming? Not so easy. So they became expert traders and sailors. Traveling overland? Forget it — everyone just shouted across the mountains or hopped on a boat.
Basically: too many hills for one big empire, so each city did its own thing… and probably argued about it.
