What kind of food would you eat?
How were women treated?
Did slaves build the pyramids?
My School's Social Pyramid? (Canva Presentation)
With your group, take 5 minutes to complete the My School's Social Pyramid page in the note packet. We will discuss your choices.
Pharaoh Ramesses II and Queen Nefertari swap lives with some stinky peasants. She sleeps in gazelle poop, he eats locusts, and the peasants discover stone pillows and royal toilets. Nefertari gets lice, the Pharaoh orders another giant statue of himself, and everyone agrees: ancient reality TV is wild.
You will learn about the different social groups that existed in ancient Egypt. They all fit neatly into various social groups, some being high status, low status or somewhere in between.
You will have 20 minutes to work together with your "expert" group to complete your assigned section of the note packet. Everyone in the group must actively participate and record their answers because they will be responsible for sharing the responses with other groups.
One member from each "expert" group will join together to form a "jigsaw" group. You will have 10 minutes per "expert" to share your information with the group. The group will be responsible for recording the information on their packets.
Once all sections (1-6) have been shared, you will complete the Vocabulary Review and Reflection pages in the packet.Â
Day 3- Finish Vocab and Reflection pages if needed
