What is a Pharaoh?
Pharaohs were absolute, or all-powerful, rulers. They made laws, controlled the land and its resources, and maintained an army.
“Pharaoh," short film, is about how a young new pharaoh must face down tradition and family in order to find her place as a ruler.
Unfortunately, not every Egyptian pharaoh was great at their job and maybe it was time for them to find a new one.
As a class, we will get together and discuss who you decided to offer the jobs to for each position. Since you all had the same resumes, you will be given an opportunity to voice your opinion on the appointment. As we go over each position, you will highlight the job title according to the pharaoh that was offered that job. Akhenaten= Green, Hatshepsut= Pink,
Ramesses II= Yellow, Tutankhamun= Blue
You are in charge of running a company and are looking to hire one of the pharaoh’s to fill a specific position. You will each be given a different position to fill (circle your assigned position). Positions include: architect, artist, banker, CEO, community service coordinator, customer service representative, doctor, engineer, entrepreneur, IT manager, lawyer, military general, movie director, police officer, president, psychologist, sales representative, school principal, scientist, senator, store manager, teacher, TV show host, writer, and Youtuber.
Look over the resumes below for Akhenaten, Hatshepsut, Ramesses II, and Tutankhamun and decide who is the best candidate for the job. Complete the Pharaohs Job Fair Pro/Con chart and explain your reasoning.
Complete the You're Hired! Final Choice handout. On the handout, you must use the colored Job Offers Chart to decide which job position that was offered should each pharaoh accept and why.
This will be graded as a quiz!
