Geography of China- Which Region? Handout (given in class)
China’s geography is like a mega sampler platter—towering mountains in the west, sizzling deserts up north, jungles in the south, and fertile river valleys in the east where civilization got cozy. The Himalayas and Gobi Desert acted like natural “No Trespassing” signs, while the Yangtze and Yellow Rivers were both life-givers and occasional “oops, we flooded your village” pranksters. In short: nature gave China everything… plus a few geographical headaches.
Work with your table to describe the physical geography and climate of four different regions of China. You will then need to use the maps to decide which region(s) of China best answers each question.
