🏯 Daily Life in Ancient China: Rice, Routines, and Really Long Robes
Wake up with the rooster, stretch in your silk pajamas (if you're fancy), and get ready to farm rice, write poetry, or invent something cool like paper. If you're a scholar, you spend your day buried in scrolls. If you're a farmer, you're buried in mud. Either way, tea breaks are sacred.
Kids practiced calligraphy while secretly doodling dragons. Elders dispensed wisdom like, “Don’t anger the emperor” and “Eat your dumplings.” And everyone agreed: chopsticks are superior to forks.
Basically, ancient China was a mix of Confucian calm, noodle slurping, and trying not to get drafted to build another wall.
1. Use the Ancient China: Daily Life reading below to fill out the graphic organizer. You will need to write down ONE fact for each topic (Social Classes, Farmers, City Life, Family Life, Boys, Girls, and School). Along with each fact, you will need to draw an image to go along with it. This is due at the end of the period.
2. Use the Ancient China: Daily Life reading below to answer questions on the Google Form posted in Google Classroom.
