Exciting News! I have been informed by Freckle that Room 224 will have access to the program all summer!
What a great way to prepare for 4th grade and avoid the "summer slide".
Tewksbury Public Schools Summer Reading Program June 2022
"There are many little ways to enlarge your child's world. Love of books is the best of all."
— Jacqueline Kennedy
Dear Parents/Guardians:
Welcome to our Summer Reading Program! Reading is a most important and rewarding activity, and we are asking all students to read three (3) or more books this summer, including one non-fiction selection. Your child can select any book for the program; however, magazines and comics are not acceptable. We have compiled lists of suggested authors to help children and parents select summer reading books.
Please encourage your child to read as many books as possible. One non-fiction selection is required. Non-fiction reading materials incorporate information from an array of subject areas, including math, science, social studies, technology, art, music and writing; thus, non-fiction promotes learning across the curriculum.
Please help your child complete the non-fiction book summary form, fill out the reading log and initial each completed book in the right-hand column. Extra materials and additional information about the program are available in the Curriculum Office, 139 Pleasant Street (978-640-7810), at the Tewksbury Public Library, and online at www.tewksbury.k12.ma.us/.
Thank you, in advance, for your assistance and support of the TPS Summer Reading Program! In the Fall, classroom teachers will collect the summer reading materials and students who meet the requirements will receive recognition and a certificate of participation.
HAPPY SUMMER READING!
