During call-back interviews on the same day as auditions, college & university representatives visit with selected students face-to-face to answer questions about their programs and ask follow-up questions to potential candidates. Do not miss this exciting opportunity to be seen by a multitude of universities and colleges with quality theatre arts programs! All Texas high school juniors, seniors, or transferring college/university theatre students intent on majoring in theatre are eligible to submit an application to participate. “Make a Film Using Your Smartphone” - The FilmFest Contest is designed specifically for TheatreFest students. The contest is envisioned as a fun way to bring student film makers from around Texas together to learn from and experience the work of their peers. During the 24 hour event, every team will receive the same prompt detailing the genre, a prop and some lines of dialogue. Each of these elements is required in a completed 2-3 minute film made with a smartphone. You and your team then have from Thursday at 3:30 pm until Friday at 3:30 pm, to create a dynamic short film. All creation must occur within the competition period: writing, rehearsing, shooting, editing, graphics, etc. The Competition is held at TheatreFest and the showings of the completed films will be shown on Friday night! There is no registration fee! Contest is open to all students that are registered for TheatreFest. Click HERE for more information.
