Principal's Pen

Welcome to the Terrace End School website and thank you for providing us the opportunity to share some aspects of our school with you.

My name is Sue Allomes and I am proud to be the Principal of Terrace End School. I have been working in education for the past sixteen years; the last four years have been as Principal at Terrace End School.

Terrace End School “ Learning on the Terrace, “Ako ki te kura atea ” ….

Was opened in 1884 and is one of the oldest schools in Palmerston North. The focus of our school is constantly on the business of learning, for children, staff and families. Our vision statement “Enter to learn and Learn for life” encompasses all that we believe in.

I am passionate about all our children seeing themselves as successful learners, as are all our staff.

Our school has in place a quality curriculum, quality teaching and quality relationships amongst staff, learners and the school community. We work as a TEAM. TRUST, EXCELLENCE, ACTIONS, and MANAAKITANGA underpins all that happens in our school. Together Everyone Achieves More!

We believe that as well as excellence in teaching, there should be enjoyment at school. School should be fun.

We look for ways to make our school interesting and enjoyable for all.

Our kids are great, and to optimise their learning, we provide a comprehensive educational experience. Our school is designed to ensure that each learner is provided with a range of experiences: sports, art’s, ict’s, inquiry learning, discovery and well planned literacy and mathematics programmes developing well rounded students.

I am proud to be Principal of a school which, in partnership with families, has a strong commitment to the development of our learners'.

Please contact us for further information. A member of our school administration would love to hear from you.
