How the Matches Work:
⚠️ New this year ⚠️
🎾 Flexible scheduling format where players in each group organize their matches on the days and at the times they prefer.
🎾 Players use their own tennis balls.
🎾 Players submit there score through an app (similar to the singles league).
🎾 Players are divided into groups of 4 players.
🎾 Every 3 weeks, a new round begins with different groups of 4 players.
🎾 The format used is a Pro 8 (first team to reach 8 points wins).
🎾 During each 3-week period, every player plays with and against all the other players in their group.
🎾 You have 1 hour to play your doubles match using the Pro 8 format.
As soon as a team reaches 8 points, that score must be submitted.
For example, if after 55 minutes of play one team has 8 points and the other has 6, the players may continue playing, but the official score submitted must be 8–6.
If there are 4 minutes or less remaining and one team is leading, the match ends with that score.
In the event of a tie, one additional point is played to determine the winner between the two teams.
🎾 If neither team has reached 8 points after one hour, the current score is submitted.
🎾 Once the 3-week period is over, each player’s cumulative points total will be added up.
🎾 The player with the highest number of points moves up to the next higher group, while the player with the lowest number of points moves down to the next lower group. The other 2 players remain in the same group.
🎾 In the example above, Denise (22) finishes with the highest score after 3 weeks, so she moves up to the higher group.
🎾 Marie (15) finishes with the lowest score in the group, so she moves down to the lower group.
🎾 Louise and France remain in the same group.
🎾 A new 3-week period then begins with the new players.
For this formula to be a success, it is important for every player to respect their partner and opponent by being punctual and available.
Have a great season!
