Instructor's Bio: Natan Szapiro was born in Cuba and spent his childhood in Havana. He earned a master’s degree in Latin American history from Columbia University, concentrating on 19th-century Cuba and Cuban revolutionary movements of the 1930s. Since completing his studies, he has continued to explore Cuban history to better understand the events of his youth.
