Instructor: Carolyn Marvin
Instructor's Bio: Carolyn Marvin was a professor of communication from 1980 to 2019 in the Annenberg School at the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to that, she was a journalist at the Atlanta Constitution. For many years, she taught a well-regarded undergraduate seminar for upperclassmen at Penn called History and Theory of Freedom of Expression. The course draws on her experience conducting free-flowing discussion across changes in the political climate over those decades.
