Welcome
Hello Parents and Students,
Welcome back to our 2024-2025 school year! I am very excited to see all your smiley faces again! I have worked in education for over 12 years at different grade levels, programs, and sites. I decided to join Temecula Preparatory School, (TPS), because I truly believe in the Classical Education Approach to learning and the core values it teaches its students to become virtuous citizens, critical thinkers and life-long learners. My passion in education is to be able to guide small minds into the leaders of the future. I know this to be possible because I believe all students can learn and have the ability to succeed! I received a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Spanish from University of California, Irvine (UCI), as well as a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) and my Single Subject Credential from UCR (University of California, Riverside).
Class overview
Bienvenidos! In this class students will have fun acquiring Spanish vocabulary and learning the basics of language acquisition. The class is designed to lay the foundation of a strong vocabulary in Spanish through songs, chants, games, role-playing, writing, projects and much more. Students will learn the vocabulary as well as conversational Spanish for the seasons, weather, numbers, colors, body parts, food, animals, and common greetings. Activities I will be using include matching, writing, drawing, coloring, designing stories and dialogues and other interactive practices.
Newsletter
Dear Parents,
It is my goal to be updating this newsletter on a monthly cycle to keep you updated of what students will be learning in Spanish Class. However, because I won't start working with students until the second week of school the months will not follow the traditional order. The months will go from the middle of the month until the middle of the next, sometimes even longer depending on the time it takes us to get through the unit. For example, this first month will begin in the middle of August through the middle of September and will probably continue as such for the rest of the year. I will also be sending periodic messages through Parent Square to keep you updated on what we covered.
For this first month we will be getting to know each other learning greeting words and making new friends. We will also covered classroom expectations and routines so that we are all on the same page. For returning students we will review the material we covered last year and continue building from there.
