Tecumseh Local Schools, along with New Carlisle Elementary, has adopted the R Factor way of thinking. The R Factor focuses on E+R=O. The E is the EVENT that happens to us everyday. We all have many events, even before breakfast. The R is the RESPONSE we have to the event. The O is the OUTCOME and how you react to the event. This way of thinking transforms simple actions, responses, and/or reactions to make them more productive and purposeful. By doing this and practicing this skill, you learn to focus your energy not on what makes you angry, but on a solution to the issue. Being solution driven will aide in a more positive transaction between you and others. This process will help change the way we think through daily events.

Culture is what we believe, how we behave, and the experience our behaviors provide for others. Culture is not a poster on the wall. Our Culture Playbook is a document to help remind us of our expected daily behavior towards the people we come in contact with.

New Carlisle Elementary has come up with our Culture Playbook. This is a teaching tool as a way of explaining our expectations to our students. Our Culture Playbook is broken into three sections: Be a Great Arrow, Committed to Excellence, and Stand Up and Own It. Be a Great Arrow focuses on kindness and respect. Committed to Excellence focuses on working hard and acting with a purpose. Stand Up and Own It focuses on integrity and trust.

We are excited to be working on our skills at New Carlisle Elementary while trying to educate and build our students' skills for life lessons.
