Students in the Tween and early teen years are at the perfect age to begin taking responsibility for their own learning! Signing up for our Jr. High program will help your students take ownership of their education as they ease into the format and structure of our High school classes but at a Jr. High level of content and rigor. Plenty of opportunities for student choice in assignments as well as curriculum. We offer both Parent-led, Independent Study options, similar to our current K-8 program as well as Teacher-led, curriculum-tied courses with activities and assignments laid out for students. Mix and match between the types of classes with each subject to fit the learning style of your student and the needs of your family!

Students from any state may enroll in one semester of PE and one semester of Health. The class is the same every year, so students only need to enroll once, either their 7th or 8th grade years. This year we are offering new electives: STEM Foundations and Anchor Humanities. We are so excited for these new opportunities.

Interested students will need to complete this registration form.
Please note that these are only semester courses. Parents/students must fill out the request form each semester! High School Request form for the 2023-2024 School year. Please email highschool@techtrepacademy.com for more information. This option is also only open for Idaho students at this time.
Indiana offers specific classes for Jr. High students, with Indiana-certified teachers and a curriculum aligned with Indiana Standards!
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I mix and match the types of classes between InfoCenter submissions, live virtual classes and Independent Study Anchor classes?
YES! There are a few states with specific requirements, as explained in the Recording!
Do I have to move to the Jr. High classes or can I continue uploading to InfoCenter?
Students can chose to remain with Infocenter submissions or mix and match between the various options!
Will I still have a Homeroom teacher?
Yes! Every student has a homeroom teacher. In Idaho, Wyoming, and Indiana students will be assigned a Jr. High Homeroom teacher, which might mean that your family has two teachers, one for younger grades and one for Jr. High students!
If my student is taking all Jr. High classes do we have to submit anything to InfoCenter?
Each student will need to submit a semester learning plan, letting their Homeroom teacher know what classes they are planning to take. If your student is signed up for all Jr. High Classes in Schoology, then you will not need to upload any assessments into Infocenter. Your student will upload their own assessments into Schoology!
What is the benefit of Jr. High, as opposed to remaining in the K-8 Homeroom?
Benefits include all-in-one resources per subject area, meaning all of the resources your student would need to complete an assessment will be in Schoology.
Your student will receive feedback from content-specific teachers, directly in Schoology.
Students take more responsibility for their own learning!
