While I specialize in Educational Technology, I am also a k-12 STEM subject mater expert. I am willing to discuss non-technology products that can have a positive impact on students and teachers. When I find a product or brand that I think is truly changing, I look into ambassador programs and referral links. I am also willing to partner with brands that reach out directly. Please note, I will not rubberstamp a product. If I am recommending something, I truly believe in the product and brand.
Interested in my conference must-haves? I have favorite gear and recommendations that I'm not partnered with, just sharing the love.
Direct link to brand. I received a free tablet for review but no ongoing partnership.
The Intuos S tablet
I received a Wacom Intuos tablet to review before FETC in 2021. It definitely has a learning curve because the tablet is basically a large mousepad with a stylus to write on your screen. It took me a few weeks of practicing before I could clearly interact with my display.
Wacom also has displays which will mirror the screen of your computer. I think these displays, which I've played with at expo hall booths, are much better for teachers. If a bluetooth model, teachers can walk around the classroom while interacting with the display from anywhere.
For every five pairs purchased with my referral link, I will receive a free pair.
Yes, that's my ear.
For years, I would carry around disposable foam ear plugs because I have very sensitive hearing. If I went to a reception at a conference, I'd have ringing in my ears the entire next day. Since finding Loop, I have seen a change. They're always attached to my wallet so I always have them when needed. Such a difference and I don't end up leaving early with a headache.
I discovered Loop through targeted TikTok advertisements (they really do know me) and I haven't looked back. For education, Loop is recommended for students that may need help focusing.
I am attempting to get a new referral link but for now it's a direct link to the brand.
Screenshot of Camtasia.
I have been using Camtasia for many years. For a while, they provided Google for Education Innovators free software as EDU influencers. They changed their influencer program, but I still use their product. I stopped receiving the updates and my current software is Camtasia 2022. After that point, they switched to a monthly subscription.
Camtasia is super easy to use and has all the features you can need for making videos for student use and YouTube, including closed-captioning.
Make sure you mark yourself as an educator when you sign up.
Professional Reader Badge.
I love reading and so do your students. Join NetGalley as a reader and receive free advanced copies of upcoming books. You'll be asked to review and provide feedback to the publishers in exchange for the free books.
The best part is you'll have the ability to select books to preview for students, but also books for yourself. NetGalley has both eBooks and Audiobooks to request so there's something for everyone.
