Tech Defenders uses an aggregate scoring system to determine the overall condition grade of each device. Depending on the device type, laptop or tablet, a unique set of components are scored A-F with each component being assigned a weighted score. This weighted score is combined to determine the overall score, corresponding to both a point and letter grade.

The scale listed below is a generalized overview of the device condition, including potential imperfections by grade.

Brand new - Sealed or unsealed product with box and original accessories

No scratches or wear. Certified pre-owned, mint, certified refurbished or OEM refurbished product.

Barely visible, minimal small scratches

Light wear - Some surface level scratches, minimal small dings

Moderate wear - Some surface level scratches, one to two deeper scratches. Some pitting, dings, and dents.

Heavier wear - Case scarring, deeper scratches, scuffs, pitting, dings, dents, possible LCD imaging or tripped liquid damage indicator, but no sign of corrosion or liquid damage.
