I have interviewed all four of our new staff members, so this week I have decided to interview our English teacher, Mr. Russell. Mr. Russell has continuously helped students each year in numerous ways. From teaching high school students English to coaching both the cross country and track teams, he has been a very active member of our staff.
The first question I asked Mr. Russell was, “Where did you attend college?” to which he responded with, “Black Hills State University.”
Next, I asked him, “How many years have you been teaching?”
“This is my 7th,” was his response.
“What’s the biggest challenge you’ve faced throughout your time teaching?” was the next question, and he replied with, “The distance learning during Covid.”
To oppose the last question, I then asked, “What is your favorite thing about being a teacher?” and he responded with, “When I see students make connections within the learning process.”
Finally, I asked, “What made you want to be a teacher?” followed with, “Why do you keep teaching?” to which he responded with, “I myself love learning, I liked being a student…I like connecting with students and helping them.”
Mr. Russell has helped and inspired countless students throughout his time in Park City, and we hope to see him continue bringing this level of dedication and enjoyment to our school!
