Park City began in 1878 as Alanzo Young's boat landing and post office and was called Young’s Point before Wisconsin settlers established this area in 1882 by planting tons of grove trees. The Northern Pacific Railroad arrived the same with them building a station for it. Park City was also going to be named Rimrock, but got rejected by the town. Park City became a hub for agriculture and a bedroom community for Laurel and Billings. Park City is also nearby Canyon Creek Battle Field which is a very large Native American battlefield. The town also has an annual celebration every August since it became a town called Park City Days. The oldest house in Park city is the Stoltz House and was built in 1907 and is a National Register of Historical Places.
