Cynthia has wanted to be a teacher for as long as she can remember.  She attended Point Loma Nazarene University to earn her degree.  While she was there, she had the opportunity to work in the Information Technology department as a Student Computer Technician.  Her love of technology was born during those years and she was committed to taking her love of technology into the classroom.  Cynthia was hired at Santa Fe Christian Schools shortly after earning her credential.  She taught a year of 5th grade followed by 8 years of 3rd grade.  During her time in the classroom, she led the charge for technology integration and helped to pilot a 1:1 Chromebook program.  She spent 4 years serving her school as an Ed Tech Coach and enjoys empowering other teachers to integrate technology.  In 2019, she returned to the classroom and is currently teaching 5th grade.  She is a Level 2 Google Certified Educator, a Google for Education Certified Trainer and Innovator, and CUE Rock Star Faculty.

In addition to being an educator, Cynthia is Mom to two sweet boys.  She enjoys reading, watching baseball, and visiting the San Diego Zoo with her family.  Her newest hobby is analog sketching.  Cynthia has never considered herself an artistic person, but she caught the sketchnote bug and leaned into her growth mindset back in 2015.  She has been a digital sketchnoter for a few years now, is the creator of #SketchCUE, and is an active member of #Sketch50.  Fun fact - she can also solve a Rubik's cube.
