Dear Teacher’s Toolbox Supporters,

We have made the difficult decision to close our physical store in May of this year when our lease ends. While we had worked towards becoming a community supported resource, we did not find the support/grants needed to continue our lease. We also did not have enough consistent foot traffic from teachers to continue to have a brick and mortar location.

These last two years have been such a learning experience for our board and our volunteers, and I believe that we have been able to make useful contributions to our community during that time. We have helped over 80 classroom teachers by providing materials for their classrooms. We have supported students in PACT classes with materials for their Future Cities projects. We have kept hundreds of pounds of materials out of the landfill.

We appreciate the support that we received from so many generous people and businesses, including Buffalo United Methodist Church, Cindy Price, Craft’d, Doris Ackerman Team, Hills Bank, SwampFox Book Store, Theisens, and VanMeter.

We hope that in the following days you will continue to come to Teacher’s Toolbox to get the items you need for your classrooms. Those with memberships have access to all our resources for no additional cost. Those without memberships can purchase a bag of supplies for $10 (You can fit a lot of supplies in a bag!). We would like all our materials to find homes in schools and be used with students.

- Providing free and low cost organized materials for classroom use for teachers in the Cedar Rapids area. 

- Recycled materials donated by local people and companies available for free.

- Weekday hours from during the school year and open Saturdays. (Access outside school hours.)

- Additional hours during the summer to prepare for the school year.

- These will be materials and services beyond what is on the student supply list and what the school provides.

- Items are for use in the classroom.
