What is National Junior Honor Society?

Established in 1929, the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) is one of the nation's premier organizations established to recognize outstanding middle level students. More than just an honor roll, NJHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, Character, and Citizenship.

What do you do in NJHS?

The goal of NJHS is to build leaders and do service. Other than that, the activities are up to the NJHS members. In the past we have raised money through our donut sales to support Walkin' in my Shoes, a non-profit organization who helps our homeless population here in Kenosha. We have also donated supplies to a local animal shelter, visited and entertained residents at a local nursing home, and packaged and distributed food at a local food pantry. Not only do we help our community, but we are also dedicated to helping our school and our students. We have held homework help sessions to help students be successful in their classes and have held clean-up days to help improve the look of our school. Each student will also select his/her own service projects that best reflect his/her personal interests.
