Title and Description
Start by titling your video and adding a description. Be clear and concise with your title. The description is a great place to put the standards and objectives covered in the video.
See example below.
Thumbnail
This is the image that will appear with your video. Once the video is finished processing, you will have three snapshots from the video to choose from for the thumbnail. You can also create and upload your own thumbnail image.
Playlists
Playlists allow you to organize your videos. You can categorize all of the videos from a single unit into one playlist and then share the entire playlist with your students. Consider using playlists like you use topics in Google Classroom; you can even use the same names in each platform to keep your virtual classroom spaces consistent.
When you select the dropdown menu under Playlists, notice that you can choose an existing playlist or create a new one.
Audience
Select "Yes, it's made for kids." This automatically turns off comments, notifications, and personalized ads.
Click Save at the bottom of the Details window. The next set of options involve adding Video elements. To learn more about these, use the button below.
Click Save again at the bottom of the window to move to the final set of options.
Visibility
It is recommended that you set your videos as Unlisted. This makes it easy to share them using the video link with your students, but it also prevents others from finding your videos by searching YouTube. Click Save to finish uploading your video. You will be provided options for sharing your video. Notice that you can find the video link here. We will look at other ways to access your video link later in this course.

Delete your video (unless you plan to use it with your students).
Read the information to learn about the three main ways to share your videos and playlists with colleagues, students, and parents.
There are many ways to share your videos. The following section will explore how to share using the video link, by posting to Google Classroom, and by embedding in a Google Site.
Sharing the Video Link
If you would like to share your video with colleagues or parents, the easiest way is to send them the direct link to your video. Start by accessing your YouTube Studio.
Select Videos or Playlists on the left side.
To access a video link, follow the steps below.
To access a Playlist link, follow the steps below. Start by clicking the Edit button next to your playlist. Then, click the Share arrow.
Copy the link and share it via email or Blackboard Parentlink.
Posting Videos and Playlists in Google Classroom
Sharing videos and playlists with students is easy to do with Google Classroom. Start by creating an assignment, question, or resource using the +Create button.
To share a single video, you can do so directly from YouTube. Click the Add button and select YouTube.
Click on URL at the top and paste your video link. See the previous instructions to learn how to access your video link. Click Add.
To add a playlist with multiple videos, you will have to use the Add--> Link feature instead of adding directly from YouTube.
Paste the link to your Playlist and select Add link.
Fill in your assignment details and click Assign.
Embedding Videos on Your Google Site
Adding your videos to your Google Site is very simple. Open your site, and select the Insert menu in the right sidebar. Scroll down to find the YouTube button. Select Uploaded, and you will see all of the videos that you have added to your FWISD YouTube Channel. Select your video, and choose Select. Your video will be added to your site and can then be moved around and resized.
Unfortunately, you cannot add a YouTube Playlist to your Google Site using the Insert--> YouTube feature. There are some workarounds that involve using embed codes. If you're interested in learning more about this, you can find more information on the Google Support page by clicking here.
