Read the post: "Google Meet is here to host your video meetings, for free!"
Review the Google Meet 'Cheat Sheet' and look over the key features of using Meet. Then watch the video covering Web Conferencing for teachers.
Note: Google Meetings can be recorded. This is incredibly beneficial if you have a student/participant that cannot attend your meeting.
Watch an overview of using Google Meet as a teacher.
NOTE: Google Meet is always updating and since the video above was created, a new way to share screen (PRESENT) has been added - 'A Chrome Tab.' This is great for when sharing a video with audio or animation.
Watch how to start a meeting using the nickname feature (also, a great way for setting virtual office hours). The nickname makes for an easier way for others to join your Meet. As long as participants are signed in through the FWISD portal, they can access your Meet by simply using the nickname you assign to it.
Explore the chat feature of Google Meet by watching the following video.
Through your portal, click on the Google Meet icon, and start your own meeting. Try using the link and nickname feature. Invite some fellow teachers to your Meet so that you can try sharing your screen, chatting, pinning, and the many other features of Google Meet.
