During this self-paced, online course, you will learn how to set-up your iPad, personalize your home screen, and discover tips and tricks for using the native iPad applications.
All FWISD educators are welcome to attend this beginner-level session.

Your Fort Worth ISD issued iPad is set-up and ready to use. However, you will need to add an Apple ID account to your iPad. Follow the directions below to set up a new Apple ID or to use your existing Apple ID.

Use these directions to create a new Apple ID. The first time you use the App Store, you will be prompted to review the Terms and Conditions and set up your account. Click here for directions.

Your Fort Worth ISD issued iPad should automatically connect to the FWISDMDN network when on campus. To connect your iPad to your home wi-fi network, follow the directions below.
Read "Join Apple Teacher" to learn how to sign up for your free Apple Teacher account. Create your Apple Teacher account before moving on to Step 4.

Join Apple Teacher
Apple Teacher is a free professional learning program designed to support and celebrate educators using Apple products for teaching and learning. For this course, you will use the Apple Teaching Learning Center to learn more about customizing and using your iPad. Before you can start, you need to join Apple Teacher using the directions below.
Navigate to the Apple Teacher website on your computer or iPad. Use this link or click on the picture below.
Click Sign up in the top right corner. Enter your Apple ID and password.
When prompted, enter the six-digit verification code. To finish signing up, you will be prompted to select your preferred language and school. Click to accept the Terms of Service. Click submit.
Complete the iPad course in the Apple Teacher Learning Center to learn more about navigating and personalizing the Home Screen and using iPad's native apps.

Home Screen and Native Applications
iPad includes apps and features that transform it into a book, a movie camera, a lab assistant, a sketchpad, and more to help you throughout the school day. To learn more about navigating and personalizing your Home Screen and how to use the iPad's native applications, complete the iPad course in the Apple Teacher Learning Center. Key skills covered in this course include using built-in accessibility features, communication tools, creativity tools, and productivity tools.
Click on Earn Badges for iPad from the Apple Teaching Learning Center.
Select iPad.
Complete the course work and take the quiz. These same questions will be used in the Getting Started with iPad course assessment.
You must answer all questions correctly and receive a score of 80% to receive credit for this course.
👉You may retake the assessment as many times as you need in order to score 80%.
NOTE:
You must be logged into your FWISD Google Account in order to take this assessment. In another browser window, navigate to www.fwisd.org/myfwisd and log in. If you have not used your FWISD Google Drive before, you must click on Google Drive within your MyFWISD portal in order to activate your FWISD Google connection. Once you have initiated that connection, you will be able to return to this page and click on the image above to take the assessment.
