DSO helps 18+ adults with developmental disabilities connect to services and supports in their community
DSO is the access point for all adult developmental services funded in Ontario. This includes housing support, community programs, personal care, and the Passport Program.
*Proof of Address, Birth Certificate, and Psychological Report needed
Applying for Developmental Services Ontario (DSO)

At 18 DSO makes a referral for Passport funding during their intake process
$5000/year or more
Use Passport funding to:
take part in community recreation;
develop work, volunteer, and life skills;
hire a support worker or respite: pay for education programs: free “Person Directed Planning”

What is the Disability Tax Credit (DTC)?

The disability tax credit (DTC) is a non-refundable tax credit that helps people with disabilities, or their supporting family member(s), reduce the amount of income tax they may have to pay
What is a Registered Disability Savings Plan (RDSP)?
Includes information on multigenerational home renovation tax credit and home accessibility tax credit
The Assistive Devices Program (ADP) helps people with long-term physical disabilities pay for customized equipment, like wheelchairs and hearing aids
Financial assistance for the cost of equipment and home modification
Subsidized recreation programs
Free support person access to participating entertainment, cultural and recreational venues
Setting up a bank account for young adults with Special Education Needs and/or Disabilities

Wheel-Trans provides a safe and reliable transportation option for persons with disabilities (includes MID/DD/ASD/Physical) to travel with freedom & dignity
Support Person Assistance Card
A support person accompanying a person with a disability is not required to pay the TTC fare
This is for eligible adult residents receiving the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) and Ontario Works (OW)
