Principal's Message

Dear students, staff, parents, guardians, and other members of the JPCI community,

As the Principal of John Polanyi Collegiate Institute (JPCI) it’s a privilege, on behalf of staff, students and the Admin Team, Ms. C. Chang and Mr. A. Choudhry, to welcome you to our new JPCI website as we begin our new 2017-2018 school year.

The three pillars at JPCI are empowering students through innovative programming within an environment of high expectations. Each day our entire staff strives to provide welcoming, meaningful and purposeful classroom activities that are engaging and relevant to the student body of JPCI.

Student learning is the focus of what we do and every student is supported, nurtured and challenged, both physically and academically, as they develop into the productive young adults capable of taking on their next post-secondary challenges.

There is always something happening at JPCI, so I encourage parents to visit our announcements page to get updates on important and timely information.

It would really take quite a bit of time to elaborate on all our offerings; our Science, Mathematics and Robotics (SMR) program, our four Specialist High Skills Majors (SHSM) in Business, Transportation, Health & Wellness and Justice, Community Safety & Emergency Services, our I-Think! Program offered in conjunction with the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto, our unique interdisciplinary Bio-Tech course, our Advanced Placement (AP) offerings, our Drama, Art and Athletic courses and our many other courses which form part of our unique course offerings. Suffice to say that all this is available at JPCI and students are provided with opportunities to pursue their passion and reach their goals.

We have a very collaborative and engaging school community and I encourage everyone to look through our website to obtain some information on our innovative programs, our courses, our staff, as well as view some of the amazing work our students continue to produce.

Thank you,

Antonio Santos, Principal
