The BOH4M course focuses on the development of leadership skills used in today’s innovative world. The curriculum is conjointly developed with the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management which utilizes the Integrative Thinking Model. Students will analyze the role of a leader with a focus on decision making, problem solving, management of group dynamics, and thinking at deeper levels. The class partners up with community organizations such as schools and not-for-profits to not only gain experience with their operations, but utilize their experience combined with the Integrative Thinking Model to assist with real life challenges these organizations are facing. By acting as real consultants to today's issues, students are able to gain valuable experience managing goals, teams, stress, conflict, and motivation while gaining effective business communication skills through the strategic use of technology, ethics and social responsibility. Students who complete the Rotman course will receive a special certificate from the Rotman program at a presentation at the University of Toronto.
Coop courses count towards your electives and in addition they are required for your SHSM program.
